All Rescue work is done in memory of my faithful companion, and 15 year friend,"Bear".
He was always the gentleman. May I be as true a friend to those who come after you as you were to me.

Well another year ends here at rescue and I find myself thinking yet again of all the people that made it possible.

To J and J, our Southern connection who vet and quarantine our rescues , we could never do this without you. These are the angels that I usually send on some errand of mercy for a dog. Never have they refused us.

To Cindi, who gets in the zone doing 70 down the highways to fetch them and "bring em on home". We have dubbed her "Road Warrior".

Brenda, this is the lady who keeps you happy with posting all those pictures you always want more of. And of course all my nonsense. Not only that, she is an alumni and has 2 of our rescues. Frosty and Woody.

Sarah, and Gail my partners in rescuing the throw aways, the unwanted, and damn near anything that crosses our paths as Sarah says.

Lisa, for coming on board and being so unflappable and making me laugh through it all.

John, the kindest of souls who walks, waters, feeds, loves, cleans, and eats me out of house and home. Always available at a moments notice.

India and her husband who opened a coffee shop and made sure the local dogs had homemade biscuits while their masters sipped lattes. They generously donated the proceeds to Lab Rescue CT .

Jazzy, my alpha dog who runs a tighter ship than a navy admiral. Best tool this rescue has.

To my son who many days waits patiently on hold as the dogs come first.

To my hubby for indulging me in this insanity.

To our supporters, past, present and future, that send pictures and never let us forget why it is what we do.

To our vets, I'll keep spending if you keep fixing.

Our networking with owners to rehome their dogs and not put them in shelters has worked well this year. Hard times hit this year and we wished we could have done more. Seven dogs found new homes and owners had the comfort of meeting the people who would continue to love them.

A grand total of 52 dogs came through our home this year. We wish it could have been more. Doing mother and pups is a time consuming endeavor. When I commit to them my priority is a clean safe environment. Unfortunately sometimes that means no incoming that might bring contagions that could be very harmful to the babies. The ones I can't help at this time haunt me, but then they all do.

Last but not least to God for the angels that crossed our doorstep and became committed adopters entrusted with the lives we turned over to them. Thank you for the strength to carry on a passion found later in life.

If I have forgotten anyone, I ask for forgiveness in advance. The years, the faces, the hectic pace. Things get melded into a tired brain that has bouts of senility at any given moment. I may not always remember you but I bet I know your dog.

Here's to next year. May we do more.

Fondly
